A Minute to Win it
A portion of class is set aside to help graduates develop an "elevator speech" about what makes Rutherfordton so special. For those less familiar with the term, an elevator speech is a clear, brief message or “commercial” about a single topic. It communicates the essential information but in a dynamic, irresistible way. The speech is typically about 30 seconds in length, the time it takes people to ride from the top to the bottom of a building in an elevator.
This exercise is done in small group and presented to the entire class for critique and discussion. Through class input and direction from our experienced instructors, elevator speeches are perfected to become the invaluable tool they are intended to be. Here are just a few samples...
