This concentrated, crash course in tourism and hospitality will enable people to speak eloquently and enthusiastically on behalf of our community to tourists, visitors and those who might just be passing through. It will also provide people with tried and true customer service techniques that will help turn our “small town friendly” into “small town FRIENDLIEST!”
“Our goal is to make our residents – especially our amazing front-line employees – experts on Rutherfordton’s rich history, various attractions and our unique goods and services, ” said Katy Hunt, Chair of the Ambassador Program project. “We want to empower our neighbors to answer questions about our community and county with pride and to recognize all the treasures we have to discover right here in our own backyard. Rutherfordton is a Minted Original and we want to educate our community as to the myriad of reasons why and then give them the confidence they need to help spread the word.”
Those who attend this training will also be given a comprehensive visitor "survival guide"; a reference folder filled with maps, various attractions' marketing materials and a quick reference guide of customer service tips, Rutherfordton trivia, history and more. Graduates of our course have called these materials, "a wealth of information" and "something every Rutherford County business should have on hand."
